intruders (ghosts psychoanalyzed)

today published the review of one of the best movies seen in recent years: The Others by Alejandro Amenabar.

THE OTHERS
*** The following commentary reveals the final, so who has not seen this film, will also stop at "critical ".****

The passion that has always been my outlet for this genre of film and the desire to offer a journey through the film about the afterlife, had the best and here is the review for one of the films I most loved, but also the most feared, since this is usually quite "exciting" way, but not good ones, but the most terrible, the ones that trigger fears more at hand, which awaken, in turn, and despite our conscious rationality, even those most hidden and deep, dating back to more ancient ancestral and which is called "childhood."

1945. La seconda guerra mondiale si è appena conclusa e Grace, da poco trasferitasi in una villa fastosa e lussuosa, quanto tetra e solitaria, avvolta nella nebbia e da terreni paludosi, sull'isola di Jersey, che aveva comperato col marito Charles, prima che questi partisse per la guerra, sta passando un periodo davvero difficile: il marito risulta disperso; è stata abandoned by all the servants, without valid reason, or can find someone to replace it, and has two beautiful children and cuddly as elementary school age, suffering from a particular disorder, that is a rare photosensitivity to sunlight, which , if you accidentally hit them, cause them to severe breathing problems and skin allergies. For these children and mothers are forced to live virtually in the shadows, if not in the dark or, at most, by candlelight. Each French door is, in fact, covered by heavy curtains and dark whenever you leave a room to another, you should always lock the door of the previous year.
It 'just that one reason he did escape the bondage of a sudden!

The story goes that in this house so beautiful but so secluded, strange things happen and when Grace is seen to reach behind the front door three people with a leaflet in his hand the ad that she had circulated for the recruitment, willingly accept to put to the test.
They are: Mrs. Bertha Mills, the housekeeper, Mr. Edmund Tuttle, a gardener and a mute girl that will be the maid, Lydia.

outset Grace is clear that those three know very well and know that house, which ensure, have been already employed the previous owners, who sold the house they found themselves without a job and the news that the same house, where they had lived happily for many years and considered their real home, was looking for staff had not pulled back and they were soon found out, sure to be well employed by the new owners.
The three is clearly hiding something! While carrying out their work efficiently, they are too strange. Dressed in a long out of fashion. Mrs Mills, for example. Always wears dark clothes and long to the foot, as it was fifty years ago, even in the previous century.
Lydia seems to be stupidotta, ma capisce benissimo ciò che succede, solo che non parla e Mr Tuttle vanga sempre un punto preciso del giardino, durante il giorno, ossessivame
nte, quasi

To which Nicholas replies that he has not breathe that way, but that Victor got gasps with fright!
The cry of the children of course closes the recovery by freeze the blood in the veins of any viewer (remember that the cinema did not want to see the scene, because of the very
voltage, so I put my hand eyes so as not to see the awful "presence"!). I was wrong: it was not shown anything impressive.

Other frightening events are those occurring in a particular room, where Grace is usual himself. There's a big and beautiful grand piano that every so often, especially before, loved to play, but suddenly one evening, after closing, as always, locked the door, heard that piano playing in a wonderful way that, Charles passed away when not playing more, then try to open, but the door is locked from the inside. Grace does not have the keys, and then screaming the name of the governess who falls in her nightgown, as a woman of another era, and provides the key to which Grace is lacking. Open the door to the poor woman can not understand how that piano sounds "own" beautiful melodies ... The tension grows, the hallucinations become! There are presences in the house, now is sure!

For this the following morning walks in the fog looking for the priest because disinfestation those annoying presences his home.
Along the way, however, Grace makes an unexpected encounter: the fog of unfathomable swamp sees coming towards her, tired, hungry and dirty, the longing for affection and warmth, just her husband Charles, in uniform with rifle on his shoulder, for which you, very religious, can not help but thank God for His infinite goodness, for having restored her husband believed to be dead!
The joy and pride is great as well! Now yes, that is no longer a single woman and abandoned. You can count on the support of her new husband who loved and raised immediately submit to servitude and is reviewing the children, who welcome their dad with boundless joy! Anne is even preparing for first communion, he cares a lot, especially now that there is a new father.

Charles and Grace, meanwhile, spend a night of love was not the case as more time together, but in him there is always a vague shadow of disappointment, as if everything were to leave again and leave, while Grace can not accept it even if he tries to make her
understand, to explain something that goes beyond simple human understanding: - "They" - says - I have only let you come here because you did not understand and called me all the time ...-.
Who are these "they" is unknown, but the strange events continue, especially in a room on the ceiling, where a strange force seems to come. What will?

everything falls back into the gloom before, but Grace can not come and it becomes even more over-protective towards their children, even against the servitude which, despite its quirks, has always been friendly and affectionate with children. Until the day that Grace does not make a gruesome discovery ... a discovery!
Taking advantage of the three, one morning climb to the upper floors, where there are rooms of
to servitude and find, hidden under mattresses and pillows coils, a photo of each of the three sitting on a chair, his head drooping and abandoned, just as if they were dead! Earlier, in fact, a little poking Grace 'among the papers belonging to the former owners of the villa, he found a photo album of the early '900, containing period photos depicting people sitting and even sleeping, so he asked about Mrs. Mills, who had already lived there and had known the people of the past.

All'esclamazione Grace: - Look, sleep! - And to meet photos of those people dangling from the head, the nurse explains that it is not exactly so: the people portrayed were killed. We used to do so at that time also because of the terrible epidemic of tuberculosis that rages between the end of 800, 900 and that begins claiming victims to no end! At Grace, kick, throw it in the fireplace instinctively that album, as if to erase the shadow of death hanging over him and heard about her children!

The discovery then, thanks to the photo find, that even the servants would not be without mysteries, does indeed deduce that something is wrong, why argue and threatened the three "individuals" to shoot his gun if had not gone away from the house as soon as possible.
But before he left Mrs. Mills argues with Grace trying to persuade them to reason and understand where that's wrong. Pull down the curtains and then by the French windows letting in the sunshine and the life that brings with it and shows that children, if exposed, do not suffer any aggravation! And 'she who must understand, must accept a truth that does not see ... the three of them were sent there to help only!

*** WHO DOES NOT WANT TO LEARN THE END, DO NOT READ Down here ' ***
Unwilling Grace will understand why he chases them even more abruptly and permanently. Soon, however, will have to deal with other things which he can not control events, to the unexpected climax of a scene, from the usual bloody room in the attic, where a scary-looking medium, is leading a seance in the company of two adults and one child (as Victor!) and is calling for the souls of a desperate mother who smothered with pillows during sleep, the two sons, following the news of the death of her husband . Then, puntatasi in front of the loaded gun, it was over for remorse. His widow, explained the medium to the two adults, had never accepted the death of her husband and being left alone. He then poured his mad despair over the children, by removing the homicide and suicide, still, his soul, to believe alive and awaiting the return of her husband.

AWARENESS
Faced with the reality of things Grace must give credit to the servants, and Mrs. Mills,
particular, which reappears with the other two, just like a ghost what is, to comfort her and make her understand that they are all dead by now and that she is not the enemy, as he has always wanted to believe. And that if he wanted to, they could all live peacefully and six in what they considered now, your home: Grace would always be their mistress and servants, despite being dead more than 50 years before and had been "driven" when they were "cleansed" the place haunted by their presence .
Grace finally resigned, understands and willingly accepts his condition and the comforting cup of tea which Mrs. Mills is ready to prepare them. He knows now that it was all a "fiction" that her husband, her children, servants and herself are all dead and that children no longer have to worry about sun exposure, because they can play and laugh with the vitality typical of their age, or she'll have to worry about Always lock the door from which all comes out!

The medium, in the end, as in both legs, unable to leave the villa by the disturbing presence, as is re-sale, thus giving to "LIVE" at last in harmony with itself and with the "other" poor Grace and the rest of the "family", which will look happy, from behind the huge glass windows, leave the little family alive who had never found rest. Only one of them sees the "presence" ... Victor, the playmate of Anne and Nicholas.
The intruders are gone.

Who were you think the real intruders?

PERSONAL CONSIDERATIONS
The film THE OTHERS was presented in 2001 at the Venice Film Festival for the genial director of a then little known English director Alejandro Amenabar, currently
Kate Winslet's husband, the heroine of Titanic, so to speak, it was noted, however, with a pretty original movie, academic environment of "Thesis", more and suspense, of course!

Somewhere I read that this wonderful film has had 15 Oscar nominations, but only in Spain already in 2002, he won eight Goya awards, that is the important film festival held annually in the Iberian peninsula, a bit 'as our Show Venice, in fact.
In this film I can say with assurance that it is prohibited to anyone under 14 years, not for the bloody scenes of blood and which is devoid of the film, but for the constant and obsessive tension hovering throughout the film, still gloomy, dominated by darkness and by the Grace of religiosity, and slammed the doors shut by themselves, with rare stunning scenes that are fixed in a not always said.

I found, this brilliant idea of the unsolvable mystery of who were the real intruders, whether the servants in the life of Grace and her children are protected until the stifling obsession or Grace in the lives of children and servants, once inhabitants of the house are alive! The shocking
final truth and really leaves you breathless, because we found all the explanations always kept open throughout the film.
And here in Grace, as explained in the introduction, removal of the murder of children, fearful and desperate feeling of awareness, in a lucid moment, the madness of the gesture made just about the most popular and defenseless creatures! So you believe! You are so devoted to God and the role of widowed mother who must protect at all costs his offspring! She who, however, did nothing but give in to his own nerves, erasing, in one gesture, the greatest asset possessed in the world.

ANOTHER ASPECT PSYCHOLOGICAL that struck me most and who I want to emphasize here is that humanity's almost taken for granted that Amenabar attaches to the servants, have long passed away. In education they recognize and respect of other times, almost a reverence for the bosses, whoever they are: they are there to serve and do their jobs ... even from the dead! The loyalty is absolute, even when Mrs. Mills, after being chased by heavily apostrophe and Grace, suggests, in the end, accommodating a cup of tea to his bewildered lady-ghost.

's great and brilliant is my opinion on this film and screenplay by Amenabar always cured, especially Highly recommended, but not to those who have heart disease: the voltage is Spaccacuore! Nor recommend it to those who are psychologically unstable or children.
There will remain calm in the chair, while watching, even for a moment, because of the tension that exists constantly, but, believe me, it's really worth it, I assure you, even if limited to those who have indicated up.

Good vision, then, and the next post!

I should publish this post on the anniversary of the November 4, but the late hour and all the painful vicissitudes that occurred during the week, I have
not prevented from doing so. But here it is! Here's my tribute to Trieste, a city much loved and who had long since I had this tribute, I did rimandato.Ora always, my beautiful Trieste, and I'm
here to keep my promise! The desire that drove me to draw up a post on this beloved city is certainly derived from the studies that I am making and that (Those who know me know already) about Saba and its city, that is, Trieste, and the trip took place last year, just in these days on the trail of my poet's heart, Saba, at last!
What about Trieste, which has not already been said in the net or guides?
That is a beautiful city?
not true, is wonderful! A single solution that combines unparalleled sea and mountain as incomparable?

It was already known!

What is most famous for its bora for monuments?
known!

children that includes the likes of Umberto Saba, Italo Svevo, Claudio Magris, Virgil Giotto (although born in Gorizia, etc.).? All known
!

What is ancient and modern at the same time? We knew it already!

What's a glorious military past as well as historical and cultural?
True!

I, however, here I am not going to write about the city, its monuments, the description can be found on any drive or network, but I just want
remember that this beautiful city, November 4, close to the anniversary celebration of the Patron Saint Right, celebrates with a great military parade, which starts from the pier Bold (the former Pier Carlo S. Sabiana of memory) and arrives in Piazza Unità d'Italy, the landing of the "Italian" In 1918, there came on purpose to free a land that belonged to them geographically, but politically he was under the Hapsburg Empire! (I have seen this memorial just last year).
E ', in fact, known that this città è, ancora adesso, territorio comune di italiani, sloveni,
Mi fu, infatti, riferito nella mia ultima visita a Trieste, che gli adepti dell'islam chiesero di fondare una grande moschea, visto il cimitero e la vicinanza con paesi europei di religione musulmana; tale costruzione fu però loro negata perché Trieste era stata già martoriata abbastanza, insieme a Trento, fino the '50s, being in a strategic location for the many neighbors and greedy neighbors, who are still willing to put their hands on. Therefore, it was not done anything to avoid being the scene of other unwanted confrontations.
Even when war broke out in Iraq, the allies of the United States was denied access by the troops who had to travel in the Middle East would be a fatal compromise! Wise, therefore, the decision of the autonomous region Friuli Venezia Giulia , of which Trieste is the capital, not to mix any of these beghe
Il pout-pourrie presente in questa great and beautiful city is recognizable by its palaces, magnificent buildings of Central European style, mixed with oriental domes of Orthodox churches and Jewish synagogues, palaces of modern apartment blocks and square mixed with unique and precious Venetian buildings and so on.

But what most distinguishes this many other wonderful city is its proximity to the sea: from Piazza Unità of Italy , where there is a monument of Four Continents (because initially were believed to be really 4), where there are spectacular buildings such as those of insurers Lloyds and General or building Government , or the exclusive Cafe of Mirrors and the ancient sound of Mori that signal their bell tower from the top of the hour, if you cross the street and goes to pier, you will find the sea, which does not take much because ci lambisca i piedi.

A real gem in Venice, with the channel and moored boats, which can no longer leave when the tide rises, reaching a result, the height of the bridges at both ends of the street.
Just in this street you can find the statue of a famous Irish James Joyce , who, dazzled by the splendor Tergestina, forgot the pomp Dubliners!

Tergestina ... Tergestina you, because first of all my ideal city was also in Rome, then called Tergeste !

It 'obvious that, in the architectural evidence such as that of the glorious and beautiful theater, as well preserved, which comes alive in summer with its splendid performances along with other colleagues in other cities by the equally rich and glorious past, eg. Verona.

But I have to say?

The Miramare Castle of Maximilian of Hapsburg, does not mean anything? Sure?
Beh, se è così propongo, per find out what these names are, do us a jump, just to breathe a bit 'of good air, good food and drink grappa production (as ever in this city, I happened to find a lot of genuine brandy in public
stations, even in nearby Udine, although that can boast of giant producers like Nonino!).

But that's another story.

MY DESCRIPTION

I deliberately described here only a test anthology of what exactly is this city. For this reason I do not presume to call this post a picture of something specific: this is the MIA Trieste , what I would gladly have lived and visited more than once, despite my feet screaming in pain to continue unabated fury to go around!

Before CONCLUSION , I remember rvi not make my mistake: never say to a Trieste that his city is in Friuli and he was a Friulano (LORIS/Sauvage27 SORRY, another esteemed blogger, for those who did not understand), because there is an answer that Giuliano and Trieste is in Venezia Giulia !!

lunch in a typical restaurant, exchanging a few words with the owner, a Roman who married a local woman, I asked him what he was doing a Roman in Friuli, now clearly naturalized "Friulano" ... now, those words stand behind me I heard a murmur of disappointment.

sat a young couple, whose husband called out to me rather piqued: - Friulano? Giuliano piuttosto! Qui siamo nella Venezia Giulia! -
